I wanted to go on the Plinth. I think Anthony Gormley does awesome work.But I’m happy for those cool kids who are getting up there, especially the birthday girl.

I’m going to scope out what’s going on this weekend.
I spent a fantastic day up on crosby beach sharing a cold bracing january day with a bunch of statues.
Haunting, evocative, poignant – these weather beaten statues standing as testament to human achievement and resilience against the a classical northen industrial backdrop.
I love the way that the tide takes over the figures but the figures then fight back and are left pretty much unscarred. It is as though King Canute was wrong – the sea shall not have us.
Gormley is a genius.
